Field and project engineering work on a lined irrigation system with canals, pipelines and hydraulic structures. My responsibilities included surveying, site supervision, measurement, quality checks and contractor billing.

My involvement

I supported day-to-day field and project activities from survey and setting-out through construction monitoring, quantity measurement, quality checks and billing. The work required close attention to drawings, site conditions and the sequence of hydraulic and protection works.

Responsibilities

Site supervision and construction monitoring
Surveying, setting-out and alignment-related field work
Auto Level and Total Station leveling and measurement
GPS-based ground profiling
Drawing interpretation and checking
Concrete, reinforcement, masonry/gabion and pipeline checks
Quantity measurement, BOQ checking and contractor billing
Measurement-book and progress documentation
Coordination with consultants/client representatives
Material quality/testing and construction quality checks
